Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) 2.0 is a cybersecurity framework required by the DoD to protect CUI. ### Who needs CMMC compliance? To be eligible for a DoD contract, any organization involved in the supply chain, including subcontractors or other derived funding, must comply with one of CMMC 2.0’s three-tiered maturity levels once put into effect. Your contractual obligations determine your maturity level. ### When will CMMC compliance be required?  In 2020, the DoD announced a 5-year phase-in period under DFARS. In 2021, CMMC went through a public comment period, and an updated program was released, “CMMC 2.0.” CMMC 2.0 is under rule-making in 2023.
